Gate Automation kits from Lakes Garage Doors provide the equipment to automate a single or a pair of swing (hinged) gates or a sliding gate.
A kit will include:
- Motor or a pair of motors (with foundation boxes for underground motors)
- Gate control panel in waterproof enclosure
- Radio controls with two handsets
- One pair of safety photo-cells
In addition to the kit you will require:
- The cables to connect the equipment (See installation guide).
- Depending on the motor and the gate construction, you may need to make a bracket to attach the motor to the gate.
- For a sliding gate you will require sufficient rack to attach to the gate. (See Gate Automation Accessories)
Before deciding on the kit please consider your requirements:
- The width and weight of your gate
- Exposure of the site to wind. This can affect even wrought iron gates but particularly close boarded timber swing gates. Make sure that your motors have surplus power to cope with more extreme weather conditions. Very cold weather can also slow motors.
- The restraints imposed by the room available around the posts or pillars. Look carefully at the descriptions and specifications of the motors. If you are unsure please email us details of all dimensions and attach photographs. We can then advise you which is the best option.
