 At Lakes Garage Doors we try to help preserve our environment in any way we can. One of our main ways of doing this is to recycle as much as possible:
• We have a huge amount of card board packaging to dispose of which mainly comes from all the new sectional garage doors and roller garage doors. All of this goes in to our ‘Cardboard Only’ skip provided by local company Capsticks. Once a fortnight Capsticks come and empty the skip and off the cardboard goes for recycling.
• Most of the old doors that we remove are metal. These doors are regularly collected by local scrap metal merchants and taken to a scrap metal plant where they will be recycled and maybe one day turned into another new garage door.
• Many of the doors we remove were originally fitted with timber frames, some of the doors we remove are fully made of timber. This timber is available for locals to collect and use as firewood.
Another step we’ve take to try and be green is we use the Novoferm Novomatic 553S as our garage door operator of choice. The 553S offers energy savings of up to 94%, now you might think that this would reduce performance on an item which needs to be quick and reliable. In reality 553S has an opening speed of 24cm/s and come with a full 5 year warranty.
